Why do some posters hide their profiles?
Do they think they are important or something?

1. None of your bussiness
LOL, just kidding, but someone posted that answer a long time ago & moof has been saving it for now.

2. I was just wondering but
I notice a lot that hide their profiles have short stays.....in other words, they are usually disruptors.

4. some people are just very careful
This is the first site where the moof profile was left viewable.
Then again it is almost all made up,which brings up the next question,

How do you decide what parts of who's profile to believe?

11. Someone Recently Accused Me Of Being "Questionable" For The Same Reason
it was a low-blow to try and discredit me because this person disliked atheist homersexurals (near as I could tell). It really stuck in his craw because I was so "secretive" and didn't provide my real city, email, aol chat, yahoo chat, etc.

I didn't know it was there... and then... once I realized it and turned it on, I also realized that I didn't have much that I wanted to share with lurking freepers.

I wouldn't put too much weight on it. Some freepers and disruptors turn it on to give themselves more legitimacy... so it's not a true indicator of who's-who and who's not-who.

5. Some Legit Reasons
I don't know if mine is hidden or not. . .registration was kinda overwhelming so who knows? Here goes:

1. Fear of John Ashcroft

2. Fear of a conservative boss

3. Have been stalked and are nervous about giving out info on the net

6. I had mine hidden on accident.
I didn't know it was hidden for a long time. When I found out, I un-hid it. I think sometimes it's just that people don't realize it's hidden.

7. Exactly
I know of at least one person who was totally unaware their profile was hidden. I'd been PMing back and forth with them for a while and one day I asked why and they were like "Really? I had no idea!". I think that might be the case with a lot of people. I mean, how often does one check their OWN profile? ;)

10. I Could Care Less
But I know of one long-term opinionated poster that recieved a year's worth of e-mail and PM's in the space of a few weeks.

The poster is no longer among us as far as I know, but neither is my past support and it's up to the Mods to make up the difference as far as I'm concerned.

Come to think of it, I need to alter my profile too. I used to have a house last Derby Day in Louisville, KY but that's no olnger the case....
