I was wondering about that, that it seemed like it would be covered under the 30,000 mile warranty. But then I figured it was the "3-year" part of the warranty.
Nice of the dealer to do that. Did they say why?
ps You weren't whining

a defect in the workmanship. The service manager said he's had a couple of other CRVs with the same problem (but those owners had warranties). Good car otherwise though.
I declined the extended warranty when I bought the car, thinking that I wouldn't have to deal with major repairs to such a low milage car.
Knowing that they will absorb the cost is a HUGE relief to me. That was really worring me.

7. You should have good luck with the CR-V |
|
It's a pretty reliable vehicle.
Glad to hear you won't have to pay for your A/C! :bounce:

it's the perfect size for me. And sound system is primo! B-)
As for the whining, complaining is not something I'm used to and I have to sometimes get over that. :P

11. That is excellent news! |

Of course, it's more the right thing to do than the nice thing, but so few businesses step up and do the right thing anymore.
Once it's fixed, make sure you run it for ~10 minutes every week - apparently it helps keep it all in working order if it runs occasionally...

Damn, $3k is a bloody lot to replace the AC!! :wow:
I got the extended warranty for the first time ever when I bought my truck back in '02, warranted it all the way out to 75,000 miles.
Well, at exactly 75,102 miles, the AC crappped out and I got a $1400 estimate to repair it. I called BS on that, took a day off work, broke out the coveralls and toolbox and went to work on it. I figured out that all it actually needed was an AC compressor clutch. 4 hours and $47 in parts later, she was cooling with the best of them!! About to turn over 100k miles and the AC is still cold kickin' it....
