I'm fortunate to have several people in my life with whom I can discuss anything, any time. Mrs. Venation, my sisters, my former therapist, several friends back home. Kismet allowed me to grow to a point where (inexplicably, I feel) every one of these people looks past my faults and loves me deeply, cares deeply, and would do anything for me, including listen. Talking is the very best thing for me.
I am so lucky. So very blessed.
If the discouragement is not so terribly bad, sometimes I'll take a drive or go to a pond with ducks, or (one of your options) curl up w/ a hot beverage and a good book -- or, in sweet Springtime weather, curl up on the deck w/ a beverage and watch the birds & critters.

for me it really depends on mood.
sometimes i will wallow a while in my feelings. believe it or not, it helps. i usually end up doing a lot of writing during this time too.
other times i'll curl up with a good book, take action and exercise. i don't drink so that is a never. i have thought of moving out of the country, but those daydreams don't happen often.

There have been times I would have quite a few drinks and drown my sorrows. There have been many times over the last two years that I have cried myself to sleep, because I am missing Sapphocrat so bloody much. But this past week has been a real blow for us queers.
I might not be an American, but I feel just as bad for my queer brothers and sisters over there as I would, had my Prime Minister did what that low life wanker-in-chief did in the SOTU.
So this past week I have found myself very numb. I don't know what to do, I am just so lost. When something gets me so down like that did, that has to do with gay rights, I would take action, but this time, I cannot find the words.
That bastard shit all over every single queer American in his state of the union address. He told the world that queers are nothing more than second class citizens in that country. And I should be blasting him in my blog and other places I publish articles, but nothing comes.
Can someone wake me from this nightmare now?
