3. Earthlink Popup Blocker works GREAT, but
you have to be a subscriber.

If you're a subscriber -- here's the link.

Good luck, John.

4. If you go to Download.com, you can get several..
one that worked well for me is POW. Everytime a pop-up appears that you do NOT want, you open POW. It will have a list of all the windows open you you just double click on the title of the window that you want gone. From then on, as soon as that window opens it is closed.

It isn't as convenient as Google's but it works well, and it's free.

7. Try this:
http://www.avantbrowser.com/

Somebody here pointed it out a couple of weeks ago (sorry, can't remember who it was). It has a popup blocker, good password management, and doesn't take up your whole windows taskbar with multiple windows like IE does.

However, you might want to check for spyware...I've had pretty good luck with the Google toolbar at work, but every time I've seen it quit working it's been because of spyware/adware.

Haven't had one SINGLE unwnated pop-up since I started using Mozilla and then the faster, IE beating Mozilla Firebird.

15. The only reason I use Mozilla instead of Firebird
is that if I have more than one tab open, then click to close the program rather than a tab, which I do frequently, Mozilla will ask for confirmation. I haven't been able to get Firebird to do that, but if you know how to, please tell me.

16. Agreed.
Google toolbar is the way to go.
Very handy, easily configured (especially if you need to set it to allow pop ups on certain pages) and a google search box there whenever you need it.
