Hmm. Interesting thing my doctor told me. |
|
He told me to rub vitamin E oil (he said just break open a capsule) and rub it on the remains of my wound and it would reduce scarring.
I never heard that one before.

When my wife was pregnant, she rubbed it on stretch marks to reduce them. The stuff is just plain good for skin.

I'm pretty sure Vitamin E is a common ingredient in those creams they sell to reduce scarring. Works too (the E, I mean -- I've had only so-so results with the creams).
Here's another one for you: My grandmother swore by olive oil, rubbed in daily, to reduce stretch marks when she was pregnant. Not that you're planning on getting pregnant any time soon :D but it's the same principle.
The only adverse affect, she said, was that when my father was born, he practically flew out, like a little greased pig.
Too much information? LOL

darkening in the sun--amazing stuff.
When I had a breast biopsy I was told to use it, and it works like a charm. Just a little rubbed in 1-2x a day. It's amazing.

9. Also good for minor burns |
|
If you get a minor burn, such as one is likely to get in the kitchen, take a Vitamin E capsulre, pierce it with a needle, and rub the oil over the burn. It will sting like crazy, and maybe even sizzle slightly, but it prevents blistering.
