Burning broccoli question |
|
Someone mentioned to me the other day that in broccoli, most vitamins are found in the stems (as opposed to in the florets). I have tried to find information on this, but to no avail.
Does someone here have an answer to this one? Is there any truth to that statement? Or is the reverse true? Or doesn't it matter?
Help with this burning question is vegetably appreciated!

A loooooooooooong time ago, a girlfriend of mine (majoring in home ec, I think) told me that the major part of the nutrients in broccoli were in the florets...
I have always taken that to be true....
Of course, there are some in the stems too...

:)
I don't know for sure about where most nutrients are at, but I've always assumed the it's the florets ... I like 'em both, though :)

5. I'm guessing that burning broccoli smells pretty bad. |
|
Beyond that, I probably couldn't answer many questions about burning broccoli.
