Not a bad deal, if you ask me. I still need to call the owner in the morning, but this will be an interesting experience.

Hooray!

3. Yes! And not only did the owner not care that I have my Master's, but...
he completely supports my aim for a PhD. And I get to earn Mr. Writer a little beer money while I'm at it.

Thanks. :)

4. I hope so.
I also will need to learn how to work the little adjacent coffee shop. Something I absolutely haven't done before. :)

Thanks - you West Coast DU'ers are great for late night announcements. ;)

9. Get good comfortable shoes!
Bookselling is a job you'll never get rich from, but will always love. (The Advance Review Copies ain't bad, either.)

14. I miss the advance copies
...and getting to borrow the new releases.

Bookstore was the best part-time job I ever could have had. It was really more like getting paid for a hobby.

21. Thanks, man.
I won't be earning much money at all, but I do hope this will provide structure in my day as I write and apply (again) to PhD programs.

22. Thank you.
I'm not sure, but I guess I'll find out later this week at orientation. This is a local bookstore that opened only nine months ago, so I'm not sure if he can offer his employees any benefits.

I may have used the employee discount a little too enthusiastically... *whistles* ex: I bought a 2nd bookcase and it's already filled up... my car is bookcase #3... :freak:

Still...Congrats! :toast:

25. Congratulations...I hope it suits you....

I meant to ask you yesterday, when you mentioned the nutty professor, if there was any movement on your book. I assume (and assuming always gets me into trouble) that you discussed going forward with him on that?
