A Humidor Question
When you buy a new box of your favorite cigars, do you take them out of the cellophane wrapper before you put them in your humidor or do you just transfer them straight from the box to the humidor?

I know that retail stores keep them in the wrapper but, everywhere else it seems that when one picks a cigar from a humidor it is wrapperless i.e. movies and such.

This question has vexed me for several years and I would very much appreciate any and all input pertinent to the question at hand.

1. Good question...
I'm not sure of the answer, but Google might be able to help you out.

Actually, I'm thinking that if placed in a humidor, there would be no need for the wrapper?

Welcome to DU! :hi:

2. I leave mine in the wrapper ...
but it is recommended that if they intend to be in the humidor for a long time, then you should unwrap them.

5. I keep them in the wrapper.
They don't have wrappers in the movies because it wastes film time having a character wrestle with it.

9. I can never afford a box of my favorites so..
I usually stock up on slightly cheaper ones and leave them in the wrapper. So's they won't taint the one or two really good ones I have in there with their cheapness. ;-)

10. What is this "box" you speak of?
Bundle cigars are the way to go--less money, still good cigars.

I always unwrap mine, because it lets me inspect every cigar for beetle holes before I put them in the humidor.

12. I thought about that but
I figured that this topic was too laid back for that forum.

UPS doesn't deliver my next two boxes until Monday so, if others think I should pose this question in GD, I certainly will.

13. Take them out of the plastic
They won't get humidified in the plastic, so they won't breathe, and they won't age. They'll be dried out little weeds after any length of time.
