Poll question: ADD/ADHD Duer's (Attention Deficit Disorders)
I am curious to find out how many people here have this problem. I do and it is my biggest handicap but I deal with it. It also explains why you see many of my postings edited.

Thanks!

John

2. It's Really A Shame That People Joke About This
I gave my dog a bath yesterday and I trimmed up her coat and tail. It's not one of her favorite things to do, but she's pretty much figured out that there's no way out of it, so she's just resigned to the fact that she may as well cooperate and get it over as quickly as possible.

My father sent me an email and as usual he made some reference to our Great Leader and how the world is a much safer place now that GOD put him in office. It was all I could do to not send him back a scathing reply.

My partner and I are thinking about taking a vacati

9. I love snow
one time when it was snowing I saw a dog but it didn't see me, it was on TV. Do you watch much tv, it's like reading a book only faster. Top Gun had a good soundtrack for its time.

5. No harm done.
If you don't have a sense of humor about these things, then you have to get one.

10. You guys are great. Thanks for sharing.
I have the same problem. Can't watch football, because everything going on at once on the field overwhelms me when I am thinking about 3 other things at once. Discovered baseball. Pitcher, catcher/batter, first base, etc. Bing, bing bing. Try it, you'll like it. Oh, I never planted those snow peas and now it is dark. Darn.

11. Diagnosed, but I dunno
I exhibit some of the traits a lot of the time, but I've never been treated for it, and I've done great in school. Then again, I could just be lucky.

12. As a self-diagnosed ADDer
I do think it hinders me to some extent as I can't seem to focus for very long or maintain interest in something that doesn't enrapture me. Also, I have many, many interests and jump from one to the other constantly, never seeming to complete or follow through on anything.

I realized I had a problem one night when I was sitting in bed, with a video in, a crossword puzzle going, talking on the phone and sitting amongst 10 or so books (which stay on my bed until I am through reading them)one of which was "Adult ADD and How to Cope With It" or something like that.

I don't want to take medication, but I really would like to have a one-track mind at times. It's so exhausting when your mind has a mind of it's own!!

While doing research on it years ago my mother came across a shirt that said "Yes, I have ADD. Do want to make a OOooo look something shiny...."

14. Mine has gotten so much better the older I got
I had severe ADHD as a child. I have settled down (no longer wild and hyper) alot but still have trouble focusing on one thing for longer than 15 minutes. It has definatelly interfered with having a normal life but I feel the weird rabbit trails my minds takes is great entertainment.
