My sweet girl Angel left for the bridge today.

She was adopted from my neighbor after their house burned down, she arrived pregnant & gave me the gift of two beautiful puppies who still live here with me. She housebroke the pups herself, I never had to lift a finger. She was a very friendly dog, her name said it all. I never believed I could become so attached to an animal in the four years she lived with me but she stole my heart away.

Goodbye sweet girl, I will see you at the bridge some day soon.

I can't believe the vet asked me "if I wanted to be with her". I would never have had it any other way. She knew she was loved.

It was really touching. If some animals come into our lives as angels to watch over us, it seems likely they leave only when they are sure we are in good hands, or paws ;) Since she trained the pups so well, one would think your Angel left you 'in good paws'.

You were a great friend to put yourself through being there, holding her until she crossed. You gave her gifts her spirit will always carry. You are an inspiration to those of us who hold the critters so dear.

Strength to you, Wcross. Let the rest of the fur kids hold you up in the coming weeks. The pack will get you through.

We all have lost friends like Angel and I believe dogs are one of Gods cruel jokes on us. Sure, god can make a turtle live over a hundred years. A bird can live 50, an elephant or gorilla about the same. A dog? 15 years. That's it.
It's because we hold dogs so dear to our hearts. Have you ever have a turtle go fetch the paper for you? When was the last time a turtle licked your face or wagged its tail so hard when she saw you that you thought she would fall over?

I am not going to mark her grave in any other than some rose bushes, every time they bloom I will be reminded of Angel.
