13. Well, for starters, ditto that Camper Van Beethoven album.
2) DKs, "Plastic Surgery Disasters"
3) Sonic Youth, "Sister"
4) REM, all albums up 'til "Document"
5) Ministry, "Twitch." Seriously. That industrial thing was already creeping in and supplanting the Echo & The Bunnymen type stuff.

OK, that was High School. Here's college:

1) Ministry, "Land of Rape & Honey"
2) Jane's Addiction, self-titled live album & "Nothing's Shocking"
3) Cop Shoot Cop, "Consumer Revolt"
4) Helmet, "Strap it On"
5) Sonic Youth, "Daydream Nation."

Music seemed to get a lot heavier in '89 or so. I liked that. :D

Jimi Hendrix

This was a word-of-mouth album; there was no FM radio or radio airplay back then.

"East West" Butterfield Blues Band (chronologically one of the first important white blues records)
"Disraeli Gears" Cream
"After the Gold Rush" Neil Young

"Sticky Fingers" Rolling Stones, and "Beggars Banquet" and "Exile on Main Street", actually the live bootleg album had the most play; anyone remember that?

60. That's an awesome list IMHO.
Well, for some reason I was never into INXS (except for "The One Thing"), but I owned every other title you listed. I graduated HS in '88. You must be somewhere around there too.

79. *Ding* *Ding* *Ding* ! ! ! !
Some on this board would view INXS and even Depech Mode as very "Pop", hence the qualifier in the subject line. Actually, most of my friends at the time were listening to groups like Ratt, Quiet Riot, Motley Crue, ETC. My list is not what most kids from the trailer-park were listening to at the time.

70. Since HS was 80-84...
Since HS was 80-84, you probably won't see anything surprising. With the exception of #3, my picks have held pretty well over the years (in my head... maybe not anyone else's).

If I hear tracks for any of these albums in the here and now though, I'm instantly transported to Friday night band parties where the guys were too cool for school in our Members Only jackets, and the girls were mega-hot in their over-tight Gloria Vanderbilt's and fuzzy, pink sweaters.

1. Zenyatta Mondatta - The Police

2. The Stranger - Billy Joel

3. Grand Illusion - Styx

4. Toto IV - Toto

5. Rumors - Fleetwood Mac

77. I listen to music from all eras,
1. Nelly-Country Grammar
2. Ludacris-All albums
3. Eminem - All albums
4. Jimi Hendrix - All
5. A mix of Bone Thugs and Harmony with Buffalo Springfield, Project Pat and The Beatles.

Like I said I enjoy music from all eras, mainly the 60s and rap from the 90s. I am just now graduating from college and there has been a drought of good rock over the past 10 years or so, and the 60s kicked such serious ass.
