16. Yup. It all started about five years ago....
....when I decided to knit afghans for everybody for Christmas presents BEFORE I knew how to knit. Taught myself and knitted my little fingers off. I did six afghans in about that many weeks. Whew!

I'm thinking about knitting myself one that'll go with my new comforter/quilt thingie that covers the couch/bed (man, will I be glad to get out of this teeny little studio).

35. Fall is pretty out here! I remember when our family was young
I saw this really cool pattern in Family Circle of a crocheted creche (which meant, the kids could play with the figures and nothing got broken, no one got yelled at). I couldn't afford the price of the pattern so I just eyeballed it and damn if I didn't reproduce the thing during my commuting time on the train. :)

I don't know why keeping the right tension is so much easier with one needle. No idea!

34. I an a knitter!
And I just love to knit. I was a scarf champion last year - and really got into all the foo foo yarns. My hair is red, blonde and maybe some grey - the kids call it tweed - so I did scarves to match me - and scarves to give away. Then I did stocking caps. The kids said they looked like American Eagle 25 dollar stuff so I went nuts with woolease and had 4 needles going at once.

I just picked up some nice woolease this week for 99 cents and have started a self striping scarf. I love it and wish it was a sweater. I am too low budget to spend the money for yarn for a sweater, I buy the nicest sweaters at goodwill for cheap.

I read sock directions and reviews and drool. I might be ready to take the plunge.

Knitting is good for me. It allows me to sit and chill.

If you find a really nice Goodwill sweater made of good yarn with decent construction...Unravel that bitch! You can recover massive amouts of great yarn from Goodwill/Salvation Army sweaters...trust me. :D

You can find serious goodies at the Goodwill/Salvation Army. Patience is a necessity though, unraveling a big sweater, washing and winding the yarn is a major pain is the ass. :D

Just check the yarn content and look at the construction. More often than not, you can score major yarn yields, if you're watchful. :D
