Image linking, please help.

I went to link an image I have of a dog with VillagePhotos and found out we can't link for free anymore. Does anyone know of another free image site where I can put my personal pictures up to post on DU?

2. How does that work.

You just upload the image and post? It seems overly simple to me so what am I missing? Is there no host or anything?
