11. Maggie, please talk to your mother...or your doctor.
This is wrong for a young woman like you. I have many reasons to be sad, but I am not. Please talk to someone qualified to help you.

Just don't feel like being around people, or being social. I blame being a Gemini. ;-)

No friends? I went through a period like that once when all my girlfriends either moved away or got married. Boy, that was a real miserable time.

4. Lonely
I read this thing about lonliness - to paraphrase, Lonliness is something WE can contol. We can't sit home waiting for the phone or doorbell to ring. Only We can overcome it.
We gotta get OUT THERE. I don't mean bars etc.
Clubs, walking, coffee shops, vlunteering, callin' old friends.

I once started to go to Singles Dances (not bars). It was tough at first but when I realized they weren't pick-up joints, and I persisted, soon I found a clique. We'd BBQ together, go to cottages for the weekends. Romances did blossom, but that was only incidental.

No shame in saying you're lonely, like probably about 3 billion people on this planet.

Luck!
/mike

30. Me Too
I miss Corarose when she was only forty when I was only fifty.

I can say a whole lot more, but she took the time and effort to make me more comfortable with Chicago when an "Asshole" ran in front of my rental car and yelled "pedestrian" instead of me comparing a 2-ton car and supplemental insurance to his 200 lb ass ignorance....

edit: I'm gonna be totally serious now. Please ENJOY your teens!! I'm 21 and I feel like an old lady and I really really wish I would have enjoyed it more instead of trying to be a grown up.. trust me nothing's more sad then being 21 and still acting like I'm 17 :p

36. The good thing: Everything changes
The bad thing: Everything changes

I understand how you feel, and I remember the loneliness of being 16. Now I'm 26 and many of the people I know have gotten married and some even have their first kids, while I haven't had a girlfriend in mmph years. Plus heading into Suck-month, err February, isn't easy either.

But seeing the relationship between two coworkers breaking up makes me think, maybe being alone isn't that bad after all. ;)

Since I am getting chocolate for Katy AND your Mom, I'll get you some too, so your February sucks less.

What's that you say? You'd rather have the new Gollum action figure?

Suck-month it is! :P

39. 16 is hard
Hormones, high school, social drama; its a lot of crap. Its one of those times that people only remember the good parts of. (kinda like the 50's) But it gets better, I promise, I was there two years ago.
I stopped struggling against my parents, I know they have my safety in mind. And I stopped caring so much what the people said, and payed more attention to real friends (that sound so clichéd, but thats only half of it).
We are all here for you.

I was madly in crush with a friend who only liked me as a friend. But senior year was fun and so was college. Many great, great times and experiences ahead for you.

AND YOU STILL HAVE TO SEE BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM!!

46. Turn your lonelyness into
solitude, where you can explore your innerself or read or do whatever. And be take advantage of it, when you get older and into the world, it is harder to find solitude.
