Well, Porkbutt's back from the vet hospital.
The Recent History of Porkbutt:

He had to go in for surgery, I think they call it a walletectomy, and he just got back home. He's been gone for two days and he really missed out, for some reason those were the quietest two days we've had in months. The vets made us get him a "crate," which is really a kind metal cage. They say it's because he needs to heal, he's not supposed to get active. I think it's really because they exposed him to too many gamma rays, and he's not supposed to get angry. The good news is, he's all doped up on opiates. The bad news is, I'm not all doped up on opiates. I really thing they should give you a morphine shooter when they hand you the bill.

1. Good luck keeping a border collie still enough to heal
Our border collie was so active even after his snipping we had issues because he kept trying to herd us and the rabbit while he healed.

Love those dogs.

2. Ah, they gave us sedatives for that very purpose.
I wish they'd give me sedatives.

5. Border Collies are crazy! Our Border Collie, Cody, used to jump
up against a window we had at the top of our stairs and bark at dogs and people he didn't like.

(Our house was built into the side of a hill so the second story was the living area.).

One morning around 3am, my wife and I are startled out of our sleep by the sound of breaking glass -- it sounds like someone is smashing car windows. I run out into the living room and look through the window at the top of the stairs (the one the dog jumps up against) and I think, "wow, this glass is really clean." Then it hits me -- there is no glass. When Cody jumped against the window, the window pane popped out and fell from the second story -- it was now shattered all over the ground. He was lucky that he didn't go flying with it -- the fall would have most likely killed him.

Why do you call your Border Collie Porkbutt?
