It's amazing what parents do and don't think of. :yoiks:

My mother has a lot of sense, and she decided nicknames were ridiculous. She named all three of her children with that principle in mind. My sister, brother, and I all have nice names that don't lend themselves to nicknames easily.

47. Red Mascara & the NJ state song
There is, or was, a guy named Joseph Rocco Mascara, aka Red Mascara, who wrote a state song for New Jersey. He tried for decades to get it adopted by the state legislature as the official state song. As far as I recall, most people thought the song was gosh-awful, so his efforts went nowhere.
