Is this unreasonable?
My employer needs me to travel to Houston for two days (Tue & Wed). Two other members of our staff will be on-site as well, but they will be arriving Monday and leaving Thursday. Our employer booked them a room together. However, for Tuesday night, they expect me to share this hotel room with the other 2 employees (all 3 of us are males). Needless to say, the room only has two double beds.

I'm not sleeping on the floor, and I'm not asking anyone else to sleep on the floor. I'm also sure as hell not sharing a bed with either of them. I was rebuffed when I asked to have a separate room. I've decided to pay for my own room in the same hotel.

Am I being unreasonable by insisting that I have my own bed? Should my employer be asking coworkers to share a bed or sleep on the floor just to save a few bucks?

7. Yeah... doubling up with strangers is no good
You could request a cot if you don't want to spring for your own room, but that's still pretty crowded.

Maybe ask about getting 3 cheaper rooms elsewhere? Or go to the hotel bar and find a woman to sleep with? LOL

11. Well, they're not strangers
I've worked closely with both of them for the past 5 years. But that shouldn't change anything AFAIC...

4. Hell no that's not unreasonable.
THEY'RE being unreasonable, expecting you to share rooms.

On the other hand, our employees often do just that, so...

5. I've had to share a room on business trips
but not a bed.

Most hotels can bring a cot up to the room.

6. I don't think you're unreasonable at all
However, if you don't want to pay for a room, the hotel can usually provide a roll-away bed. Not the most comfortable in the world but it would save you the expense.

14. Oh, yeah
If it's not a totally sleazy rent-by-the-hour place, you can usually get a cot. As a matter of fact, I recently stayed at some chain in LA - I think it was a Best Western - for a couple of nights because my sister was out from Vermont visiting her son. She offered to get a cot so I could share with her but she smokes like a chimney so I got my own room.

If you know the name of the hotel, you can call them and ask. :hi:

I have never had to share a room when traveling for business. What if someone snores?
