Saw "The Simpsons Movie" today--overrated, imo
It had some good parts but few big laughs and it was pretty predictable. Still it was probably better than the average thirty-minute episode (or is that 22-min episode)of today. But have to admit that even though THE SIMPSONS have lost some of its punch in recent years it's still better than most of the junk (tabloid, reality show) on TV today.

1. I saw it as well
and my opinion is pretty much the same. It got a few laughs out of me but nothing gut-busting. It relied to much on the slapstick elements of The Simpsons and not enough on some of the brilliant satire that the show has come up with over the course of its life. Still, I enjoyed it. Just thought it could have been better.

2. The advert and plot synopsis on a review site were plenty for me.

Homer is also acting more and more like Peter Griffin.

4. I agree about the Peter Griffen comment
Personally I've always thought the Simpsons was the cleaner version of Family Guy, and I've noticed that Homer is becoming more like Peter to attract some people from that crowd. But I really liked the movie, I thought it was quite enjoyable, and funny, but not extremely funny.

3. That's too bad
I think I'll see it anyway, as a fan. Most of the new shows still provide a lot of laughs for me, and I hope the movie does the same.

6. I was surprised at the number of people in the audience who evidently

missed many of the jokes.

Guess the pop culture references in the quick dialogue and in the scenery went right over their heads. I can't imagine they enjoyed the movie very much.
