I've developed an intense hatred of DJs |
|
Last night we went to yet another social event that was ruined by a DJ who could not, would not turn down the music. It's a high-school renunion, for heaven's sakes. We're old people who want to talk and catch up. We don't want to dance and many of us have hearing problems. Turn down the music!
This particular DJ would turn it down on complaints and then nudge it right back up again. Every now and then he'd get it in head that we needed to dance and he'd crank up the dance music. All evening we were yelling at each other in an attempt to have a conversation. All evening people were going up to the DJ to tell him to turn it down.

1. How did the reunion go otherwise? |
|
I'm 34 years old and I've never been to a high school reunion. I sometimes wonder about the people I knew back then.

2. It was full of old people |
|
Funny, we never think of ourselves as looking older, but then there you are with all those old people. We renewed aquaintences, talked about kids still left in the nest, and grandchildren, and classmates who've died. Overall, a very rewarding time except for being blasted by music all evening.
We graduated from high school before you were born. Geez, I feel old.
