The opening scene to the film "Zodiac"..... |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpw_9TrIugYBrilliant use of music. As I mentioned in another post, "Hurdy Gurdy Man" is used to perfect creepy effect here. David Fincher is an awesome director.

Both songs, Easy To Be Hard and Hurdy Gurdy Man were songs that I've really liked since the 60s. The way that Fincher used both of these songs was brilliant. The down side of it (for me), was that although I'm pretty sure that Three Dog Night and Donovan had completely different vibes performing those songs, I'll probably forever link the Zodiac (and his murders) to those songs. Not a bad thing. Just different.
BTW- I'd seen the film at the theater twice and just saw it again from Netflix. What an incredible job he did.

2. I know, somewhat of a downside is those cool songs |

are now associated with a horrible act of violence. But still, man that was brilliant. I especially loved how Fincher uses Hurdy Gurdy Man over the end credits, it just ties together the beginning of the film to the end. I wish he'd direct more films, he's great.
