YAY Spirit!

I knew they could do it!

Well, Spirit's not out of the woods yet, but they discovered there was some program corruption in the flash memory on Spirit, and when they told it to use the RAM memory instead, Spirit started to work again.

They upgraded the condition from "critical" to "serious", and said it was still 3 weeks or so before the rover would move again.

But there's real progress, and they are confident much of the functionality of Spirit will be restored!

Now, crossing my fingers for a safe landing for Opportunity!

We're watching the live NASA feed on the Opportunity landing tonight as well. I knew Spirit had more life in him yet. Never give up and never surrender.
