I think best in "Elephant Man", but it was also in "Amelie" and "Platoon".
The song itself will bring a tear to the eye. It is like a brave struggle in futility.

pines of rome...the appian way...definitely gives me chills... mahler five, 4th movement...definite chills. there's a lot of classical that i love! ah yes, beethoven's 'emperor' concerto...second movement...also chills... sigh... :)

Stunning. I hadn't known that this set of performances had been filmed until a recent post here on DU. Thanks again to the poster!
Edit: I don't know if there is any Horowitz there, but I know that he had at least one laser disc out... Amazing.
