Granite Bay Boy Assists In Rescue Of Babysitter

GRANITE BAY, Calif. -- A 7-year-old Granite Bay boy is credited with helping police and firefighters rescue his babysitter after she got stuck in a household dumbwaiter system.

The Placer County Sheriff's Department received a call for help from the boy just before 9 p.m. Thursday.

The boy said he warned the sitter not to get inside the dumbwaiter during a game of hide-and-seek at a home on Auburn Folsom Road.

The 21-year-old woman got in anyway, and the compartment descended under the weight.
