I went to adopt 2 of the kitties...

What a stressful afternoon. When I'd called, the shelter informed me they didn't know if any of them had Feline Leukemia or not (they don't have a Vet there, and don't test for it). Not only that, but my husband didn't want any more cats. I tried to go to work and not think about it, but the images of those kittens was haunting. And screw Ambien... I'm never taking that crap again -- no matter how bad my insomnia is (I will spare you the details of my mood swings).

After my husband finally got home, we raced to the shelter. We made it only an hour before closing... which was very stressful, since the person at the shelter already informed me the kitties would be euthanized at closing.

Guess what? All the kittens had been adopted!! YAY! And, the adult cats, still there, were about to be picked up by a "No Kill Shelter," she told me. *whew*

What an emotional roller coaster that was. Anyway... it all turned out okay -- even though I feel like it took 10 years off of my life.

Good that the kittens were adopted, we are in a similar situation right now. A friend of a friend has a 5 year old Boxer that needs a home stat. I said I would take it, even though I'd rather wait until my yard is fenced (we were going to adopt one from our local Boxer rescue), but this guy needs a home now.

I'm hoping that they found someone closer, they are 8 hours away....we are still waiting to hear.

Kudos to your husband for coming with you even though he didn't want anymore furbabies.

I'm very sorry I worried everyone. And, yes, my poor beloved husband... he's wiped out from my stress, too. I think I caused half the DFW Metroplex to worry today! :eyes:

If I was truly a good egg, I wouldn't have worried everyone.

I was afraid to give too many details, just in case other people were going to go adopt some of the animals. And, I didn't know how the Feline Leukemia thing would turn out... it was too stressful to put into words, believe me!

8. Who knows what did it...

I put out requests for good vibes/prayers all the way from here to a friend (whom I also consider an Angel on Earth) who lives in Rome! I am a firm believer in those famous Lounge vibes... I really am! :-)
