Have I mentioned recently how FUCKING MUCH I HATE PEOPLE????
Jack the Dog is settled in. We're recovering from the flood.

In the mail comes a notice from the city that our "neighbor" has complained that we have too many dogs and they bark all the time (5 dogs, yes. Bark all the time, LIES).

The city has an ordinance that only THREE adult animals are allowed per residence. THIS MISERABLE PIG AND HER CROTCHETY OLD MOTHER HAVE GOT A HARD ON BECAUSE THEY DON'T LIKE US, AND THEY DECIDED TO TAKE IT OUT ON OUR PETS.

GOD FUCKING DAMN IT I HATE FUCKING PEOPLE.

1. I would rather have you as a resident of my apartment complex
Edited on Tue Aug-07-07 08:44 PM by MadMaddie
than the big selfish pig of a bastard that beats his pit bull puppies until they are squeeling. None of the three dogs are fixed.

We called the police and animal control. The animal control guy says well unless you saw him punching them with a closed fist then there is nothing I can do!:wtf:

I hate selfish people too.

If you take care of your babies then it should be any of their business how many animals you have.

2. Those poor animals! And how does animal control think you're
going to actually SEE this guy punching them (with closed fist)? Put a hidden camera in his apartment? Sheesh.

3. I know it's insane....my partner is so sensitive she has been
crying all day about it because she can't stand it to see an animal hurt.

The really sad thing is I know we are not the only ones that have witnessed the behavior or heard the puppies.

It makes me so mad. The puppies will grow up to be mean and when they turn on the owner or a child...the owner will act surprised. These puppies are sweet but he is ruining them.

5. I hate to even suggest this considering the OP
but it might be worth looking into to see if he has too many animals at his residence...does he have them vaccinated, are they registered with the city, anything to get animal control out there to let the people know they are being watched. How about writing a LTTE to the local paper...or just calling them and telling them that animals are being abused and animal control will not take action. Sometimes animal control CAN take action, they just WON'T for whatever reason, stupid, sorry excuse or whatever. I highly doubt there is an ordinance anywhere that says "beating with a closed fist"...cruelty is cruelty. Animal control answers to a higher authority, and remember that you are the one that pays their salary. If there is a humane society in your area or an animal rights group you might contact them...sometimes you have to put pressure on them from the outside or make them look bad before they will act. Recording what you are hearing, seeing, with video probably wouldn't hurt, or at least get audio. Heck if it's that bad a local news station might take on the story, or a newspaper, especially if other people in the area are having problems with animal control being ineffective (which it does seem like they are in a lot of places for whatever reason.)

6. Thanks for the advice I think filming it is a good idea....
and we will reach out to other animal rescue organizations.

The animal control guy smirked...I guess in his mind a squeeling puppy doesn't rank high on the kind of abuse he has seen....(this is what I am going to believe)! sigh....

24. Are you perchance in Wisconsin? Sounds like our ACO's...
Animal cruelty enforcement is utterly useless here. Prosecutors were mostly uninterested in pressing dogfighting charges against a man caught with gamedogs and paraphernalia...all they cared about was the drugs (and this after keeping all the poor pits all but bankrupted Dane Co. Humane Society, their checkbook's still smarting from that, so to speak.) Hell, over in the Milwaukee area an elementary-schoolteacher(!) had kept four pits and a mutt in his basement chained up for 5 years. They had never been let outside (can we say SQUALOR, boys and girls?) Two dogs had to be euthanized for temperament problems, and the big male pittie had his chain EMBEDDED in his neck. All you saw was a dog with a chain coming out of it. (He had it surgically removed, and he recovered nicely and was a sweet teddy bear of a dog, but recently was euthanized due to inoperable cancer.) They were surrendered to rescue, but animal control refused to do anything despite the fact that (1) photographic and veterinary evidence was presented and (2) this teacher lived in a part of Milwaukee where pits are illegal. Even with that, those useless wastes of taxpayer dollars sat on their worthless asses. Despite Wisconsin's "progressive" rep it all too often seems as if the so-called authorities don't give a tinker's damn about animal cruelty.

33. We are in Washington state.....usually the cities are very
responsive to complaints but I am going to have to do some more research to find out what the actual law is.

You are right they don't care about animal cruelty until the get their next seriel killer, domestic abuser, child abuser...and then say they should have seen the signs..

4. I am so sorry
that is really infuriating. I wish I could think of something to say to make it better...perhaps it might be worth looking into to see whether there are loopholes, whether there are other people affected by it that might be willing to band together and help you fight the ordinance. I know Hulk Hogan's family had the same problem and had to go through the court process, eventually they won their case. Luckily being wealthy they had another house in the same town and moved two of their dogs there for a while...then they were fined $100 dollars a day for a while, eventually it was settled though...and it was their neighbor's gardener who reported them. Again, I'm sorry that this is happening.

26. I wish you the very best of luck in your search
I get so upset every day reading the 'free' ads on craigslist...every day it is the same old shit "we are moving and can't keep this dog/cat/rabbit/snake' whatever. It just burns me up. Very rarely do you find people who will move *for* a pet. Your family are special people.

10. Day one of "Operation Silence."
Poor Vinnie. We are only letting him out with a muzzle because he can't contain the puppy barking.

I hope these miserable people are PROUD of themselves. You know what it said in the letter? "...reduce the number of animals on your property..." Maybe I should contend that HUMANS being ANIMALS should have the same limits.

15. 3 dogs and/or cats, reduce the number of animals, we will check.
I figure they're understaffed, and if the complainers do not re-complain, we might get enough breathing space to escape.

19. Here's my advice
And I've given this to others (we have an ordinance in parts of my area that are much the same)...

Lie. Tell them that you only have 3, and that they're welcome to come by but to schedule it because you work. The day that they are supposed to be there, disappear 2 animals to a friends place for the day (just in case).

Aha, but what if they take pics in the future of more than 3 animals at your residence? Well, IT IS YOUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT to have friends/family come over and bring their animals. The other two don't live there.

If they get enough complaints from the one neighbor that go unsubstantiated, they'll get ignored.

Most of these ordinances limiting animals are unconstitutional and have been proven in court as such.

20. Frankly, they've spoiled the neighborhood for us.
We don't want to spend money on lawyers.
We don't want them to go upstairs and see the 4 cats (They LOVE it up there: 3 BR's a bath, two walk in closets and 8 huge windows to hang out in), so technically, we aren't 2 animals over, we're 6 over.

It's just not worth the effort. It isn't about the pets, anyway. They'd just keep looking for another opening. They have no other life.

They won't change, and if we don't kiss their asses just a little, they can always send animal control with cops and cages.

The pets are family. We won't risk them for pride. FUCK pride.

17. The worst assholes are those that do their homework.
They complained about barking (when the sheltie on the other side of them barks for a living) and about numbers (guilty as charged.)

They do not care about live and let live. It's like living next to Cartman and an evil Judi Tenuda.

23. Don't worry too much.
I don't stay mad at anyone that long. I simply write them off my list of people I'd go out of my way to pull out of a burning vehicle, or call 911 for if I saw them collapse on the street.

I'm a little like the Jews in that way: piss me off that much, when I can stop paying any attention to you in any way, shape or form, then to me, you're dead. You no longer exist.

Just to give you an insight: I never used to utilize the "IGNORE LIST." I guess my temper got worse with age: I just started ignoring people who gave me what I considered undeserved shit. And I never review it. I see "Ignored" on a post or reply: I'm not even curious. I have it set to ignore EVERYTHING from people on the list, and there they sit.

Keeps the blood pressure low and the migraines to a minimum.
