This post is contagious.
LeftyKid has the chicken pox.

We have oatmeal bath and soothing lotion and movie rentals and we're gonna wait it out. At least he's not real itchy.

2. Poor Kid.
Glad he's not too itchy, and hope it doesn't get worse.

When we were kids, we called them "Chicken Pops".

4. Aww...poor thing.
I thought there was a vaccine for that these days?

Anyway...hope he feels better soon. I missed my class Valentine's Day party because of the pox. (My mom schlepped to school, picked up my homework and cards and candy.)

10. How is he doing as far as the actual "pox"...
...when my kids got chicken pox they actually only developed a few of the "pocks"...still feels lousy to get it, though.

Do kids still get mumps?

11. He's got two hand-size patches
I think we've got a few more days of them spreading before peak pox, today was the first day he had a noticable crop of them.

14. Ya' know...come to think of it...
...I do believe the mumps vaccine is rolled up with the rubella vaccine...and they have a chicken pox vaccine also, which is why my youngest didn't get it.

My wife is a nurse/BSN...you would think I would remember these things...

:D

I'm dealing with the aftereffects of chicken pox - 40 years later. It's called shingles.

Hope he's OK

16. a bizarre thing that happened to me in college
i got flu like symptoms and i had spots on my head that enlarged....like 3-4 inches off my skull. I thought i had brain cancer or a tumor or something. I went to the doc and he said i had shingles, gave me and antibiotic, went away in like 2 days.

funky.
