Would anyone want a High Contrast layout for DU? (Dark background and light text)

In a post earlier today some people expressed interest in having one. I dorked around for a little while and came up with this. I could make it into a Firefox Extension. It has tons that still needs to be done to it. I just wanted to know if it is worth going forward. I doubt I would ever use it. But, I will fix it up if people want a dark background with light text.

Black text on a light background is far easier to read than light text on a dark background - just look at the vast majority of books out there.

10. I used to like dark backgrounds and light text better

but not anymore. Now, a dark but not SO dark background might be good, and I'd probably check it out if it was there but it doesn't matter to me if the one we already have is the only one.

I'm old. Backgrounds like that give me headaches and make my eyes go blurry. I can't look at them for more than a few minutes.

On the other hand, that *would* keep my DU time under control.

it's very restful on my eyes to look at.

I liked the "old blue background/white text" on WP......

Though I like to switch things up sometimes just for the difference.

If I may - (and I know you said it still needed tweaking!) the writing's a wee bit "fuzzy" - if it could be crisper, that would be better.

But overall - yeah - I like it.

(Except I still have IE/windows etc.....)

Hey - post this in the Aspie group - and see what response you get. I'm curious if there's a difference between those who prefer and those who don't.

13. There are times when I highlight text to make it easier for me to read...

When I do, the background appears to be a khaki green, and is easier for me to read than both the standard black on white and your white on off-black. I guess I'm a middle-of-the-road kind of person...
