Has anyone ever deleted a blog?
I mean, start one, or even a diary or a Myspace page, get sick of the notion, and just--bag it? I blogged for about three months, just lost interest, and decided to jettison the thing. I just felt it was substandard somehow--so I deleted it. If you ever did that, did you find it difficult? Did you experience a phantom-blog desire to write something after you quit? Did you think you might blog again?

6. I feel you--but if you go to
https://www2.blogger.com/start

it's insanely easy, and any hipster doofus with a kvetch and a keyboard can get to it. This is how my predicament began--kvetches...keyboards. I needed to vent.

9. I don't even keep up with my journal at home, in my bedroom
so I doubt I'd have the inclination to do a techie version of one. On the other hand, venting is a good thing. I know.

3. Yeah
I still have plenty to say on the topic, but I went back to school and simply don't have the time to put the effort into quality thought and writing that I wanted to do. So I'll get back to writing on the topic as I get the chance, but probably not in that format, I would rather use a format that lends itself to longer, more detailed pieces and less frequency, likely something in print. But I'm too busy to make that happen anytime soon.

7. Time was my big concern, too--
all the things I read about trying to keep a blog going made it seem clear you had to be prepared to post regularly, but my work-life and homelife didn't lend iself to that--with my commute, my "work-time" is about ten-hour days, and since I share my computer with the hubboo--I get it for about 1-3 hrs a a day--not enough time to scope out and be "learned" on my topics, not enough to really do good writing. And I do feel like longer and detailed posts are what's what--why else blog?

4. I just killed off a secondary one...
Have a photography blog, and decided to have a "private" blog for pictures I didn't want to share with the great unwashed masses. Only had about 20 people signed up for the private one, and for various reasons, I decided I didn't want to keep it going, so I've hidden all the entries and just left up a "sorry, it's closed" message. Maybe I'll revive it if the spirit moves me...

Did sign up for LJ just so I could comment on friends blogs, but didn't feel compelled to keep mine updated.

You'll be OK. You're just ahead of the curve.

8. Thanks for that--
I think I will be OK--I just need to give myself time to figure out what I want to say publically, and when I have my message down, I'll be able to try again. I had maybe 280 visitors to my blog (via Sitemeter), but really, I posted for me. If I can make what I want to post match what folks want to read, I think I'll be onto something. But I'm just not there.

11. most blogs can be set to private
Just for you or a select group of invited friends... I kind of like to keep my writings around in some shape if possible. Or maybe it's too late. No biggie. You'll have newer, better ideas in the future.

5. I have deleted a few blogs.
I still have a tumblelog for neat things I find on the Internet. And I have a few blogs that are specific to certain computer related areas. I don't blog about the stupid shit that I do all day. That is what Twitter is for.

10. I had a blog for quite a while
where I raved and ranted against the neocons and other hideous creatures. I posted commentary daily for about 6 months and was picked by Peter Daou to be featured blog on the Salon site for nearly a week...and then I just got burned out and stopped writing. A few months after that I deleted everything I'd written, without bothering to save the material. I can't tell you how much I regret doing that.
