hey, this is his son Benny. just wanted to let everyone know the he is out of surgery. everything went really well and hes recovering now.

16. SeeMunkee on the mend...

Dear Friends of Seemunkee,

This is Jerry's wife, Anita. I just want to say thanks so much for your warm thoughts and kind words. Jerry made it through the (Tuesday) surgery like a real trooper. It was about 3 hours long but he was in recovery for another 5 long hours after that for stabilization and pain management. Luckily all the post-surgery rooms at GW are private and they're taking good care of him. I know Jerry is comfortable in sharing this, so I can tell you that there were no surprises during the surgery. The renal mass was ~7 cm and appeared to be encapsulated with no apparent spread to the lymph nodes, perinephric fat, or the renal vein or artery. We hope to have the final pathology report late this week or early the next. The chest CT was also felt to be negative for spread.

I think Jerry is going through a serious case of email and forum withdrawal. We have lots of friends and family calling up and coming to the hospital but I know he also misses 'visiting' with his on-line friends and sends you a big hello. I'm sure he'll be back in circulation by this weekend.
