1. Game 7 of the World Series would get fewer viewers than a good regular season NFL Game

2. I am not surprised
Everytime I try and watch a World Series game, it goes into extra innings.

3. how about, all sporting events are boring as hell to watch
on TV.

The only time the games are any fun at all is if you're in the stands, and then who the hell cares if it's pro or college or any other reasonably decent competitors?

I think the hoopla and money involved in pro sports, and all the idiocy and blatant tribalism about college competitions, is pure, utter bullshit.

Now, I really must go :hide: even though I stand by everything I've said.

14. Never.
I can watch football all day long on TV. And my wife an verify, I am not boring when I watch that. I get into the games. Maybe because at one time I was a player, and remember the rush. I had fun playing.

23. I used to participate in equestrian events...
and so I can understand a bit what you're saying, but I just don't like to watch - I'd rather be doing. If I can't actually be riding, I'd rather be out hiking, or reading, or cooking, or whatever.

I certainly understand the pleasure of relaxing in front of a good program, but all day? Every weekend, as it seems football interminably takes up every channel all winter long?

To each his own, certainly, but so many people just sit around and watch life, rather than do.

Now I'll climb down off my sanctimonious-asshole soapbox.

24. Well, I can not play any more.
So, I have to live vicariously. I don't watch all, but some days, Saturdays are my down day to recover from the week.

12. It is very true...
I have been told to see baseball in person, but if I watch it on TV. I get bored too fast. It's like taking me fishing, if they are biting I am fine, but if they are not, I am chucking rocks in the river before long.

Less bull, and more spirit. Pro Football are all about profit, no one is there to take chances. College they play because they want too.

Soccer is a girls game. If you wear shorts to play it, it ain't a sport.

Hey Miss M,

How you doing? I am fine just wishing it was Friday, since I have a three day weekend. I have already put in 6 hours of over time this week. I am tired.

21. Ah, the non-stop excitement of Mer'kin football
The game begins: Dude kicks off. Maybe another dude catches it and runs a few feet with it, or maybe he doesn't catch it and they start at the 20 after three minutes of commercials. Either way, the quarterback then hands the ball to another dude and he runs a few feet, or he throws it to another dude who might catch it, unless he doesn't.

Thirty seconds go by. Repeat above.

Another 30 seconds go by. Repeat above.

Another 30 seconds go by. Punt.

After another three minutes of commercials, repeat all of the above but in the other direction.

The excitement is so overwhelming I can scarcely contain myself.
