Firefighters who risk their lives running into burning buildings, complaining about taunts from the crowd. Did they fear sexual harrassment? Maybe now then can empathize with gays. And, I wonder just how much tax revenue the gay community pumps into San Diego and I wonder how many Veterans were marching in the parade.

Do they want to pick and choose which parades the participate in, like christians who pick and choose in the bible how to live their lives.

This is ridiculous. All fire departments are forced to participate in events they don't "want" to participate in, whether it's putting the trucks in Christmas parades, providing protection at fireworks festivities for organizations they may not "like," Sons of Confederate Veterans events, patriotic events, church events, and so forth...

What did they have to do? Get the trucks to the parade route and then ride in or on the truck, some FFs providing escort along side the truck? Gay people provide tax support to the fire departments, too.

Good to hear that they have a woman chief. In our county, it's VERY hard for women to become firefighters--there is a lot of male resistance--but when they do, they become "one of the boys," and aren't treated any differently.

This may have more to do with the chief being a woman than about having to participate in a parade. I hope that she disciplines the ones who are rebelling against her right now...I know numerous fire chiefs, and they surely wouldn't put up with such shit.

These are the same zeroes who represented the Dover Pa. School District--the school board that was trying to push "Intelligent Design" onto its biology students. (they lost in a monumental court decision, and the members were kicked off the school board)

When they're in their turnouts and helmet, they look good. Turnouts hide the bellies...lol. But once the turnouts are off and the civvies are on, well, you wouldn't give them a second look.
