Real "fun" going on right now--who do things all go wrong at
the same time?

Sister-in-law, with colorectal cancer, has been told by her doctor that her cancer is currently non-treatable. She had massive surgery last year, but the cancer spread to her lymph nodes. Another surgery a couple of weeks ago removed as much of the nodes as they could--some of the tumor(s) was "hugging" her femoral artery, so they couldn't remove it all. Now they're saying that they can't irradiate the rest of it, only hope that the chemo will shrink it, and buy her some time. She's not even 51 yet.

My mom fell last night at home and stayed on the floor until my sister came home a short time later. My niece came over because my sister had to stay and watch my brother, and went with her to the hospital. Broken hip and possibly broken humerus or shoulder.

The surgeon decided not to take care of the arm/shoulder right away, but was planning (tonight) on putting pins in her hip. He wasn't sure if it would hold, as she spends a lot of time laying down, and she has a large amount of osteoporosis (which was hereditary) and it was as a result of that that she broke her hip with a fall out of proportion with the injury.

As they say, "It never rains, but it pours." Yeah? So what else is news? :sarcasm:

7. Thanks
It sucks a lot. And add to that my own situation where it's getting more difficult to get around, and you've got a winner. And then there is the fact that I'm 3000 miles away from them all.
