he has been very good... We have no idea how old he is.... just came walking up one day. He's always had good vet care..... up on all shots, strictly in doors. But lately he's been laying around (especially when it's very cold) and seems less coordinated.... still eating good and drinking.

Or going up and down stairs? Watch to see if he does.
I've heard feline glucosamine may help. You might also try keeping his limbs warm.
Maybe this is just part of the aging process. Cats eventually slow down and don't play and run around as much (although I'm very happy that my almost 9-year-old cats are still behaving very naughtily!)
