2. Morning or Evening?
Morning was the Minneapolis Tribune.
Evening was the Minneapolis Star.

They merged to become the Minneapolis Star-Tribune (a morning paper).

5. Dispatch was the evening paper. The morning paper was the Columbus Citizen Journal.
It was published from 1959 - 1985.

6. The Brattleboro Reformer
It was a rag (still is) but I made the front page twice in high school - once for leading a rather large protest and once for dutifully participating in the "Model Congress."

I was an Army brat...I don't think I realized that there were any other newspapers until...I don't know. I was way older than I should've been, though.

13. We had the Minneapolis Star and the Minneapolis Tribune.
Edited on Thu Aug-09-07 11:00 AM by Left Is Write
At that time, the Tribune was the morning paper, and the Star was the afternoon paper. We took the Star on weekdays. On the weekends, only the Trib was published, so our Saturday and Sunday papers were the Tribune.

Some time when I was in my late teens, the Star and the Tribune merged into one morning paper, the Minneapolis StarTribune. That's what it is to this day.

Our suburban weekly was called the Burnsville Current.

Edited to add - I suppose I should mention the St. Paul Pioneer Press, but we didn't take that one. Only the Minneapolis papers.

23. Baltimore News American and/or Sun.
The now-defunct News American stands out because it was the one on the floor that I peered over the edge of my crib to read aloud at the tender age of 18 months (!), much to the astonishment and delight of all.
