3. Nah, too far back.
Almost feels like I strained the back of my tongue.

Which makes no sense, since I've been alone all week.

4. Infected/blocked parotid gland??
Edited on Sun Jan-25-04 01:38 PM by SoCalDem
Odd as it sounds I had that happen once and woweeeeeee it hurt like hell.. I hope that's not it.. I had to send my son out at 3 am to a friends house to get me some drugs.. (The friend had 4 vicodin left over from his knee surgery).. I was about to send him out to find me some crack ..

You should go to the dr.. There are lots of little canals, glands etc, that can cause you a world of hurt if you have them go haywire..

or..

you might have slept with your hand under your chin :)

5. Is it on both sides?
If just one, maybe an infected salivary gland?

6. Could be mumps. No kidding.
I've had it four times as an adult. Are you puffy?

8. No puffier than usual.
:) And it's pretty much centered.

Now, of course, it doesn't hurt. It goes away and comes back during the day.

9. Hmmm...
On the chance that it is a salivary gland infection, you may wish to suck on a sour hard candy or two. That's what my doc sasy to do -- sorry, this may sound gross, but the sour candy & the sucking can get the crap out of the gland.

And if you don't have mumps, at least you've enjoyed the sour candy. :)
