Another Life Long GOP'er Dies Loathing Bush
He registered as a Republican when he was old enough to vote and figured he was a Grand Old Party lifer - until late 2000, when the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that George W. Bush would be the next president.

"Marty hated George W. Bush," said June Martensen, his wife.

"He thought Bush was ruining the country. He was very anti-Bush. In fact, Mr. Bush's antics made him change from being a lifelong Republican to being a Democrat."

Too bad Mr. Martensen won't be able to cast his vote against Bush.

2. Same thing happened to my dad
Although he was a Democrat as a young man, for some reason he changed to the Repug party during the FDR administration. By 1983 he had grown to loathe Reagan and repeatedly said, "He's not for the little guy." He was preparing to vote Democratic to get Reagan out in 1984, but unfortunately died in July 1983 and didn't get to cast his vote for Mondale.

3. Hey! We're Democrats!
"Too bad Mr. Martensen won't be able to cast his vote against Bush."

That's never stopped us before! Its a long time honored tradition here in South Texas. LBJ would have never been Senator from Texas had it not been for a voter registration drive in a cemetary in South Texas! :-)
