14. How were the mosquito's and blackflies?

I played in a hockey tournament there once.

Nice part of the world..but bugs in the summer can pick you up and carry your blood drained husk away!

Mosquitos as big as B-52 bombers, but no black flies that time of year! Deer flies and horse flies though and those suckers took chunck of meat out of you!

23. I grew up on the Ottawa River....

for a few years even further north than there and the bugs were so bad as kids our moms used to put used stockings on our heads to stop the flies from biting us! Seriously...imagine a shitload of 4-10yr olds running around the hood looking like a bunch of little bandits!
Lots of folks in those parts have enclosed gazebos so they can enjoy summer bbq's without being eaten alive!
