Poll question: If Jimi Hendrix isn't the most influential electric guitarist to date, who is?
It's a poll, Jimi or other-who is considered the most influential electric guitarist ever, if not Hendrix?

1. Mmmm... Chuck Berry?
The guy who invented the licks played by every rock guitarist after him?

2. Great choice, very influential, but not like Jimi's influence imo.
When I got on the city bus and found a vacant seat, I thought I saw my future bride walking down the street...

7. I shoulda said Les Paul anyway
Hell, the guy pretty much invented the modern electric guitar, as well as multi-track recording.

And he can play a guitar just like a-ringin' a bell. :)

4. Obviously, I am.
If you'd ever heard my face-melting guitar riffs and soulful, artistic playing that comes from the very center of my burning, brilliant soul, you'd agree.

Okay, seriously. It's Hendrix, above and beyond almost all others.

5. Charlie Christian is probably the most influential electric guitarist of all time.
And no wonder.

6. Les Paul?
The "father of the electric guitar"... but I would still choose Jimi.

11. Well the two guys the influenced Jimi were
Pretty damn good too. Albert King and Albert Collins. Both were also very influential to Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughn.

But when I am around youngesters they are all trying to play like Jerry Garcia.

Almost everyone who plays acoustic guitar, folk, rock or country has been influenced by her playing. Electric guitar players, as well...
