Etiquette question: Thank you cards for condolences |
|
I am aware that deep sentiments overrule "etiquette," per se.
Sibling "A" is the deceased, with spouse & children as the main respondants. Siblings "B" and "C" have closer ties to some parts of the very extended family, each receiving certain separate calls or cards.
"C" is going to send out thank-you cards to the persons who contacted him directly and personally. However, two cousins with prior closer personal ties did NOT contact "C" directly, although they made the extraordinary effort to travel 600 miles round-trip to the funeral.
Should "C" include them in his group of personal thank-yous? Presumably, "A"'s immediate family will do the general thank-yous.
