Judge pursues dry-cleaner fight
A judge who lost a $54 million lawsuit against his former dry cleaner is fighting the cleaners' attempts to collect attorney fees from him.

Roy Pearson filed an opposition to the defendants' motion for attorney fees Friday, saying he shouldn't have to pay the $82,907.50 that the Chung family owes from defending themselves against his 2005 lawsuit. ~snip~

Aug 8, 2007 8:38 AM (3 days ago)
by Scott McCabe, The Examiner
Washington DC (Map, News) - A panel voted unanimously to notify the administrative law judge accused of turning the D.C. judicial system into an international joke that his job is on the line. Roy Pearson, the city judge who sued his dry cleaners for $54 million, has 15 days to respond ... The letter was the first step in removing Pearson ... http://www.examiner.com/a-870325~Panel_to_pants_suit_judge__Your_job_is_on_line.html

3. We need some sort of Harry Potter charm...
...to place the words "I AM A PUBLIC NUISANCE" on Roy Pearson's forehead. Hermione Granger, call your office.

I think I can safely say that while the Chungs have suffered the most due to Pearson's behavior, he's not going to win any popularity contests with the people of the District, or of Northern Virginia, or of Montgomery County and Prince George's County, Maryland.

8. The story was that he went through a nasty divorce.
It has been suggested that that particular unpleasantness has something to do with his ongoing irrational behavior.

6. He should be paying an assload of punitive damages, not just those fees, IMO.
And he should be SLAPPED. Often. By someone who knows how.
