I went to the "drags" yesterday
for the first time ever - MOPAR Nationals - Did I break even if I've changed all my light bulbs and boosted up the A/C a couple degrees?

It's a Run What You Brung public day at Santa Pod Raceway, two friends and I are going to take our cars down the strip.

3. We're taking a third friend to man the cameras
hopefully I'll have some photos to post. :)

We need to get there early though, especially if the weather is nice. (Which it has been for the last couple weeks). Apparently the public track days in the summer get pretty packed.

6. Wow, you even call it the same thing Over There
"Run what ya brung" is a Mer'kin classic. It's how drag racing and the NHRA started.

One of your cars has long been popular among weekend racers here. I knew a guy who had one. Look familiar? :D

9. Honestly, at first glance
it just looked like a classic 1940s American hot rod. I had to look quite hard to get what you were on about. ;)

10. Yeah, there is a lotta resemblance
to a late '30s Mer'kin sedan. Maybe that's why they were so popular — that and the fact that it's fairly easy to stuff a small-block Chevy engine into 'em.

The guy I knew who had one sold his custom '57 Chevy to get it, so I guess he must've liked it a lot.
