| Man, I hate the Golden Globes.... |

Now I"m a movie buff, and I can appreciate the self important camp value of awards shows. I like the Oscars and the emmy awards in large part because the self congratulatory over-serious nature of it all is fun to mock and laugh at and a lot of times they do reward fine artistic work. And the whole cult of personality thing around stars is sociologically fascinating.
But the Golden Globes with it's forced "Hey this is the fun, wacky awards show were everyone cuts loose" vibe is just so transparent and phony even for Hollywood. And it's the only place that actually rewards blatant "Look at me I'm a serious actah now" awards bait (Jim Carrey, I'm looking in your direction).
But my wife commandeered the television so it's either that or sequester myself on the computer.

However, I am all in favor of any Nicole Kidman bashing.

Can we talk about her phony miscarriage--leaked to the press to get sympathy for her Oscar campaign, AND to make it it look like she and Tom actually might have had sex!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, right, like that happened.
