8. Too cynical to care

Apart from being english, i don't really see much difference - we're fucked whatever party gets in, there as well as here. Labour (or Democrats) might slow things down a little, but it's gonna get worse before it gets better. I agree with whoever it was who said that we have a choice between the two factions of the business party. IMO that applies to the UK and the US, indeed most western "democracies". Even the most idealistic, well-intentioned new government has a huge list of things they can't do, and top of that list is annoying the ruling elites.
