*Sigh* Papillary carcinoma
SO's thyroid pathology came back today. Her thyroid removal surgery was successful. Lymph nodes look good per the surgeon. But what they removed had a 7 millimeter spot of papillary cancer. Doc says radioactive pill treatment which from what we've read so far on the internets means she'll be radioactive for a week...:scared:...

Prognosis is good but I'm slightly freaking...

2. Aw, damn. Sorry, libnnc.
Sounds very scary, but at least some good news about the lymph nodes. And a good prognosis.

Will be keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers.

She can beat it though. I have a friend who had the same thing! She had it like 10 years ago.

21. Good news about the bad news
That particular type of cancer has an excellent cure rate. Your SO will probably be around for a long time after her treatment.

But I can understand why you're freaked. So here's a hug. :pals:

22. Thanks for the hug
Really the main reason we're a little freaked is because her sister died two years ago of pancreatic cancer -- from out of no where. She was only 43. So the "c" word puts us off. But we're trying not to over react and have heard really good news today about the treatment and the recovery rate.
