I miss my friend Tim.
He was probably my best guy friend in high school, but I haven't seen him since my wedding (nine years ago).

He's the one good friend I haven't stayed in touch with, and the friends who have kept track of him have pretty much told me he's not worth talking to; he's had alot of "issues" and hasn't been very interested in, or kind to, our mutual friends.

He was like the male version of me. I loved his sense of humor, and we connected so well. We were friends for years. I really miss him, but it seems like it's been too long since I talked to him to start doing so, now. Besides that, my husband detests him, and vice-versa.

Is there anyone that you miss, but never try to reconnect with?

1. Yeah, my friend Nancy.
We were friends for years, and I even lived with her and her family for several years.

She's pretty high energy, sometimes almost manic. I haven't tried to reach her in a number of years, because I just don't think I have it in me any more to deal with that.

2. I've re-connected with a few old friends
In almost every case, it didn't last long.

People change over time, and it seems they lose enough of the qualities you once had in common that you no longer have enough in common to sustain a re-generated friendship.

My best friend as a teenager turned into his dad. He's a deacon in his church and lives in Tom Delay's old district. He and his wife, who was also a close friend, talk only about their trials and tribulations.

A woman I was with for almost seven years moved to New Mexico and became a redneck. Half the e-mail she sends me is "jokes" about Dems.

My first girlfriend recently contacted me via Classmates. She can't spell worth half a damn, and I can't figure out why she looked me up in the first place, because she used me to get back at another guy (one of my best friends then) and dumped me like yesterday's paper after about a month.

Sometimes it seems like I'm the only one who hasn't changed. :silly:
