I just read that somone I know and counted as a friend has been arrested for possesion of kiddie porn.

I'm just speechless, I don't know what to say.

2. I know that feeling, JC.

The band teacher from my high school, who was very popular with the students, was arrested a few years ago, trying to solicit sex from two under aged boys.

It broke my heart, and absolutely stunned me. I wasn't in band, but in the choir, and the band and choir often teamed up for performances for the school. My sister WAS in the band, and she was absolutely stunned when the arrest was announced.

There are no words to describe how finding something out like that feels.

I bought so much stuff from him, and always enjoyed the conversations whenever I stopped by.

I was looking forward to talking to him again when I was going to pay my college friends a visit next month...

When reading stories of people arrested for such things, I admit I'm guilty of not thinking past the children and the person charged. I forget that the family and friends of the person charged are devastated as well.

Just remember that this has nothing to do with you, and there is nothing you can do to stop people from what they want to do. Also, as another poster stated...innocent until proven guilty.

13. could anybody have had a reason

to want to set him up? I know someone who was set up with bestiality pics on his PC because he wouldn't drop a lawsuit against a law enforcement agency. I know it looks bad, but I wouldn't necessarily jump to conclusions.

some kids were devastated, they all loved him (though they said he was a little weird) and some were even mentored by him and were helped through college.

17. I get "the vibe"

it has never failed me yet. I don't know what you call it when you are male. I have gotten the vibe about a couple of people (couldn't tell anyone why)and was chastised in some cases, but every single one of them has done something really heinous down the road. I don't know what it is but it helps me out.
Sorry about this particular situation but trust your instincts they are often correct even though you might not be sure why.
