11. Some people think so
Edited on Mon Jan-26-04 12:54 AM by populistmom
Some probably don't.
You could ask Jonnyblitz or NightTrain. They saw me last week.

However, someone said to me recently that I "knocked him out", I'm "a bodacious babe", and I'm "beautiful". I suppose that counts for something. Of course, people can say many things they don't necessarily mean at times.

21. You have the power to go 10 years into the future
but for just 1 day.

Do you go?

If not why not, - and if so, - name 3 things, or 3 people you'd like to see and what you hope to find for them.

22. I don't think I would
I'd be too scared that there would be something bad in the future that perhaps I shouldn't know. I think too that the journey is a necessary preparation for the destination.

23. See, - and I'm just the opposite.
The future doesn't frighten me, because it's a wide open book. It is resplendant in possibilities. It's the things that come unburied from the past that haunt me.

24. I guess what frightens me
is the possibility that someone I loved might not be here in this realm anymore. Likely, in 10 years, hopefully, it wouldn't be a child, but it's likely it could be a friend or parent, probably definitely a grandparent. I just don't want to know that kind of stuff.

Possibilities of what I can do I find intriging, even the idea seeing some gives me a lot of hope. I don't fear what I can control, but knowing there's so much I couldn't perhaps does a little.

would allow you to rewrite it!

Unless you believe in fate over free will, that is.

27. Not fate over free will
But knowing how little control we have over some things. Like if my mother's cancer reaccurred or my husband returned to his demons once again. You can't always control disease, and never can you control someone else's actions, or someone's action relating to certain diseases (I learned that the hard way). We like to think we can sometimes, but ultimately, we can't.

26. I have lost many people in my life
to death. Including the young man who was my lover, many friends, and my much-adored mum.

At some point in grieving the loss of many I came to realise the fugitive, ethereal, fragile nature of life. All of us will go that way eventually.

I would rather know. I would rather have the opportunity to save myself unresolvable regret over the things I failed to say, the petty argument that died on my lips and turned into the last things we will ever had said to one another.

Those are the things from a past that can haunt a person. Petty personal failures which are undoable. The future is a wide-open field.

If I lost someone so intimately close, I might feel similarly. It's hard to know. I'm very sorry though for your losses.

29. Are you working actively on a plan for the future
to solve your problem or just kinda taking things day to day.

I am kinda in between, day to day but trying to formulate a plan in the back of my mind.

It will just take awhile. Ultimately, it's like The Matrix, I swallowed that red pill several months ago and saw reality for what it is. It's possible the situation could be better and in a couple of years I decide otherwise, but it doesn't feel like it.

On edit: An explanation if you're not a Matrix person (not that I am really, but I like the analogy)- In the movie, Morpheus asks Neo what pill he wishes to take. The blue pill stands for the dream world that Neo has been living in (let's call it the ignorance is bliss pill). The Red pill stands for the truth which as we know in life is often the harder pill to take! So in taking the red, he finally realizes the truth for what it is and ultimately accepts it working toward a better future for everyone.

31. I know where you are coming from...
I have come to a realization of the reality of my own situation. I am actively thinking of options but not yet acting upon them until thoroughly gelled. With kids, their well being must be of the utmost importance.

Anything is possible but once something has jumped the shark, rarely does it improve.
