I cussed at a guy at the Post Office
Edited on Wed Aug-15-07 01:53 PM by mycritters2

The church office switched buildings (our church is on a campus with three buildings) and therefore addresses a year ago. We filled out all the change of address forms and informed everyone who needed to know, at the time of the move. Now the post office has started returning to senders all the mail CORRECTLY addressed to the church. I have tried and tried and tried to get them to JUST DELIVER THE MAIL TO THE ADDRESS ON THE ENVELOPE!!! But every time I talk to this guy, he gives me all this crap about what it says in his computer and what they have on file, and on and on. My assistant has talked to them. My moderator has talked to them. They simply cannot understand that all they need to do to deliver the mail correctly is READ THE EFFIN' ENVELOPES!!

So, in the midst of our SIXTH conversation about this, I said "Look, this is all just a lot of bullshit." I was really quite calm at the time, but I don't like to pull out the vocab when doing church business.

But, honestly, my beagle can pick up her dumbbells and take them where I want them to go. Why is this so difficult for the freakin' POST OFFICE?!!

Thank you. Please stay tuned for my next encounter with a government employee. They're always entertaining.

11. Me too!
I've only seen a couple of episodes, but it's damn funny! Vicky Pollard is my favorite character by far!

"Don't go giving me evils!" "Yeah but, no but, yeah but..."

8. By "guy" do you mean the carrier or the postmaster?
If the former, it's time to write the postmaster (address it to "Postmaster, Your Town Name, Your State Name")

If you've been dealing with the postmaster, call the USPS national business customer service center
link on this page:

http://www.usps.com/business/customersupport/welcome.htm

Or have the beagle fill out an application for the local letter carrier position. It couldn't hurt.

Which was part of my frustration. I didn't think there was any way I could go over his head--cuz I thought he was the top, at least at this PO. So, thanks for the link!! I'll call!

They should hire the beagle, though. She'll take her dumbbells anywhere I say, if I promise her a cherry tomato for her trouble. That could probably save'em some money.
