Some folks from work were fired today
It's just so depressing. They did their job well...and what do they get? A call from security to be escorted off the premises. No warning. Nothing.

And now, I lose some great company, get more work...all for no extra pay or respect.

I really hate my job...and for that matter corporate America.

2. We just had a similar bloody purge where I work.
And one of the people they got rid of was one of their best newer employees. There were several other people they should have considered getting rid of first.

There was no rhyme or reason to it, except to cut the payroll budget, and they even did that ass backwards.

4. No warning... in some states that might be considered illegal.

5. Yes, that
happened here too. Everyone's on pins and needles now. Everyone's got the if it can happen to them, it can happen to me mindset, and rightfully so. Doesn't do much for moral.

6. There are less vicious ways to fire people than a surprise escort off of the premises.
That speaks volumes about the employer. Sad.

Hang in there, okay?

7. That security escort method is definitely creepy.
I've seen this, I was a software developer for 12 years.
They don't even get a chance to say goodbye to people.

I much prefer the union construction method, they just walk up to you with a check
for all the money they owe you up to the end of that day, even though you're not
staying for the rest of the day.

But then you get to walk around the whole job and say goodbye to everybody. It's more
like a celebration!
