I've been to both locations, and they are both pretty miserable. the Inland Empire (basically Riverside County) is hot, boring and right-wing. The Salton Sea is polluted and has dead fish and a ring of foam around the edge and stinks.

The DVD is great too, has 90 minutes of delete scenes, making of footage, a bunch of stuff. And like I said, the film itself is amazing.
